A Morton's neuroma is a thickening of the tissue around an irritated or damaged nerve leading to your toes.
It can result in a sharp, burning pain in the ball of your foot or feel like you are walking on a pebble. Toes may also sting, burn or feel numb.
It can be caused by wearing tight, pointy, incorrectly sized or high-heeled shoes, and exacerbated by high impact activities such as running or other activities that place pressure on the feet.
