Monitor Your Brand on Reddit

Why Monitor Your Brand on Reddit?

Monitoring your brand on Reddit helps you understand what real people are saying about your product. It's a great way to get honest feedback, identify customer pain points, and discover opportunities for improvement. GummySearch is a powerful tool designed to make this process efficient and insightful.

Getting Started with GummySearch

This guide will walk you through using GummySearch to monitor your brand on Reddit. We'll cover setting up your audience, searching for brand mentions, and analyzing the conversations you find.

Step 1: Create a Targeted Audience

An "Audience" in GummySearch is a collection of subreddits relevant to your brand. This ensures that you're only monitoring conversations from your target users.

  1. From your GummySearch dashboard, click the Add button to create a new audience.

  2. Give your audience a descriptive name, like "My Brand's Audience."

  3. Add relevant subreddits where your customers are likely to hang out. For example, if you have a CRM for startups, you might add r/startups, r/entrepreneur, and r/saas.

A dark-themed user interface displays a 'Startup Founders' community page. At the top, there's a navigation bar with options like 'Info', 'Edit', 'Share', and 'Add'. Below this, the main content area is organized into sections: 'Keyword Search' with an input field and filter tags like 'hubspot', 'business', 'startup', 'Best crm', 'Best website builder', 'I hate', and 'Looking for'. Further down, there are lists for 'Subreddits' (showing 'r/Entrepreneur', 'r/business', 'r/smallbusiness', 'r/marketing' with member counts), 'Themes' (including 'Hot Discussions', 'Top Content', 'Advice Requests', 'Self-Promotion'), and 'Topics' (displaying 'Business', 'Startup', 'Made', 'Created' with post counts and trend indicators).

Step 2: Search for Your Brand

Once your audience is set up, you can start looking for mentions of your brand.

  1. Navigate to your newly created audience.

  2. In the Keyword Search bar, type in your brand name.

Step 3: Analyze Conversation Patterns

The Patterns tab helps you identify recurring themes in conversations. This is useful for spotting trends, feature requests, and competitive intelligence.

The image displays a dark-themed user interface for a keyword search tool, specifically within a 'Startup Founders' context. The search bar contains the term 'hubspot'. Below the search bar, there are several tabs: 'Results', 'Patterns', 'Sentiment', and 'Ask'. The 'Patterns' tab is currently selected, showing 'Patterns 5' indicating five patterns found. Three distinct patterns are visible: 'HubSpot Integration and Customization' with two upvotes and two comments, 'HubSpot vs Other CRMs' with 21 upvotes and 70 comments, and 'Building Alternatives to HubSpot' with three upvotes and one comment. Each pattern includes a small icon (wrench for integration, crossed swords for comparison, and a building with a thatched roof for alternatives) and a brief description, sometimes with bullet points detailing related subtopics or questions. There are also navigation elements like 'More', 'Close', a 'Browse' button, and a 'Tracking' bell icon.

Step 4: Gauge Audience Sentiment

The Sentiment tab gives you an at-a-glance overview of how people feel about your brand. You can see a breakdown of positive, negative, and neutral mentions, as well as a timeline of sentiment.

The image shows a dark-themed user interface for a keyword search tool. The current search is for 'hubspot' within the 'Startup Founders' category. Tabs for 'Results,' 'Patterns,' 'Sentiment,' and 'Ask' are visible, with 'Sentiment' currently selected and underlined in white. Below the tabs, a section titled 'hubspot sentiment' displays a summary: 'The sentiment towards HubSpot in the analyzed posts is generally mixed, with some users appreciating its features and integrations, while others criticize its cost and certain functionalities. The sentiment is mostly neutral to slightly positive, with specific pros and cons highlighted.' Buttons for 'Download' and 'Share' are also present.

Don't be afraid of negative feedback! It's a valuable source of information for improving your product and addressing customer concerns.

Step 5: See All Product Feedback in Your Category

The Products tab is an additional place where you can see feedback on all products in your category, including your own. You can see reviews, ratings, and direct quotes from Reddit users to understand how your product stacks up against the competition.

The image displays a dark-themed interface for 'Startup Founders', featuring a list of product categories and a ranked list of CRM products. The left side shows product categories such as 'Crm' (277 products, 742 reviews), 'Website builder' (70 products, 232 reviews), 'Tech stack' (117 products, 188 reviews), 'Crm tool' (88 products, 153 reviews), and 'Accounting software' (63 products, 144 reviews). The right side showcases a ranked list of CRM options, starting with 'Hubspot' at #1, followed by 'Zoho' at #2, 'Pipedrive' at #3, and 'vcita' at #4. Each listed product includes its rating, the number of reviews, and a brief quote from a review. For example, Hubspot has a 4.2 rating with 78 reviews, and Zoho also has a 4.2 rating with 55 reviews. The interface also includes navigation elements like 'Info', 'Edit', 'Share', and 'Add'.

Step 6: Track Your Brand and Competitors

To stay on top of new mentions, you can track your brand name and related keywords. GummySearch will then notify you of new conversations.

  1. In the Keyword Search results, click the Track icon (🔔).

  2. You can also track your competitors' brand names to monitor their conversations and identify opportunities.

  3. Configure your notification preferences to receive alerts via email, Slack, or Discord.

The image shows a 'Your Account' page with 'Notifications' selected. The page details settings for 'Tracked Keyword Digests' and 'Email Updates from Us'. For 'Tracked Keyword Digests', users can enable or disable notifications, choose a frequency (Daily, Weekly, Monthly), and select notification channels (Email, Slack, Discord, Webhook). Currently, no default channel is set, and tracked keyword digests will be sent to the account email. For 'Email Updates from Us', users can choose to enable or disable emails regarding product and pricing updates.

You've now set up a system for monitoring your brand on Reddit. Regularly check your GummySearch dashboard to stay informed about what your customers are saying!
